Media Investor

Periscope is looking for a Media Investor specializing in Video (TV and Digital Video) and Audio (Terrestrial and Digital Radio). This candidate will negotiate and invest across multiple media platforms ensuring the highest possible performance while maintaining best pricing. The ideal candidate has experience across linear and non-linear channels, and an insatiable curiosity for emerging media.


Media Investing

  • Effectively estimate and track delivery for all clients across media channels
  • Negotiate and steward buys for assigned markets/clients across multiple platforms
  • Be responsible for individual tasks within team workflow process
  • Evaluate and obtain value added opportunities for clients
  • Oversee avail/RFP requests and communicate buying objectives to prospective partners
  • Effectively problem-solve and generate innovative solutions in a timely manner
  • Analyze and use numerical data effectively
  • Build productive and transparent relationships with media representatives
  • Evaluate and publish POVs on sponsorship and integration opportunities
  • Actively seek out information including emerging media and technology, changes in media consumption patterns, market conditions and media ownership
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of post-campaign reporting

Client Relationships

  • Ensure agency work meets quality standards, is presented in a professional manner and is delivered in a timely fashion, within the client’s media budget
  • Understand client business including consumer profiles, communication goals and objectives, products, markets, distribution, competitive set etc.
  • Actively build client confidence in the agency, manage client expectations, ensure client gets “no surprises” and ultimately champions the agency’s execution of the media plan


  • Provide timely, clear, concise, accurate reporting
  • Keep records of all negotiations and maintain historical pricing data
  • Keep the team current on issues that affect individual markets
  • Give clear direction to junior staffers and provide effective feedback to all levels
  • Be a keen listener, receptive to the ideas of others


  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task
  • Creative problem solving and decision-making skills, excellent judgment
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office and media buying software
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high stress situations with effective results
  • Strong client management, negotiation and troubleshooting skills
  • Professionalism in all internal and external communications
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team


  • Minimum of three years in marketing/marketing communications/advertising in agency, client organization or equivalent
  • B.A. degree in business (marketing preferred), journalism, mass communications or liberal arts with strong business curriculum
