Associate Account Manager, Public Relations

As the Associate Account Manager, Public Relations, this person will execute a variety of public relations tactics, such as content development and media relations, by providing research and writing support to the account team. This role will also monitor and analyze trends in marketing research and client's competitive environment, assisting with writing, editing and proofing materials. The incumbent will assist with project follow-through with clients as assigned, and will receive direct supervision.


  • Monitor and collect current news and online coverage; update account group with pertinent information relative to client's needs.
  • Compile assets and draft materials for Media Kits.
  • Develop content for client newsletters and collateral.
  • Maintain publications for agency including organizing and routing as necessary.
  • Update media lists with contact changes.
  • Develop a thorough and current knowledge of client business. This involves
  • understanding the client's products, market, distribution, trends, organization history and internal dynamics and challenges.
  • Assist with trade show support.
  • Attend client meetings as requested and generate assigned client contact reports
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned from time to time to meet the changing needs of the agency.


  • Knowledge of and passion for the process of modern public relations.
  • Strong writer, skilled in proofing and editing.
  • Knowledge of current Associated Press style in journalistic writing.
  • Careful attention to detail.
  • Ability to execute detailed research projects based on client criteria.
  • Excellent and effective communicator over the phone and in-person, with the ability to proactively build rapport with clients and vendors.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work with constant deadlines.
  • Self-starter that can work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Display a service-driven and client focused attitude.
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment and is a quick learner.
  • Possess a strong understanding of good journalistic writing principles.


  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism.
  • Previous PR or news writing related internships.
  • Ag experience preferred but not required
